Beneath the Surface (Reluctance #1)
by: M.A. Stacie
Blurb:
Kyran Reese is a man in control. Driven when it comes to work, focused when it comes to play. From his office to the chalk circle of the bare-knuckle boxing ring, his only thought is to win. That thirst heightens when Dale Porter enters his life. His brother’s assistant should be off limits, but her witty comments and sarcastic comebacks have him desperate to get her between the sheets.
When Dale agrees to Kyran’s relationship stipulation of no labels she’s sucked into a whirlwind of lust, money, and underground boxing. Dale fights her growing affection, trying to hide it when the world around them spirals out of control. All too soon she realizes she can’t hide her true feelings any longer.
Has Kyran finally met his match? Could playing to win mean playing for keeps?

My Review:
Wow! This book is so much better than I expected it to be and I expected it to be pretty good. I love myself a hot, bad ass fighter at night and Executive by day. This is Kyran or Mr. Reese...Umm, yummy!
Kyran has an addiction. That addiction is kicking ass and taking names in the boxing ring. When the going gets tough, Kyran sets up a match. When Dale Porter walks in his life as his brother's assistant, she adds fuel to the fire. I love Dale. She's witty and cute and keeps Kyran on his toes.
The blurb honestly doesn't do this book justice. It's about so much more. The main thing being addiction and the many forms it comes in. It deals with drug addiction and a very sensitive topic involving the brother and an assistant. This book has drama, angst, love, passion, blood and a whole lot more. I love it!
