The Things I Do for You (The Alexanders, #2)

 Blurb:

A bargain. A baby. A billion things can go wrong.

Nicholas Alexander doesn’t mind being called a playboy. His charm serves him well in business and a beautiful woman is always on his arm. Except the one he’s in love with.

Raina Winters doesn’t believe in love, so when she’s dumped right before her wedding, she’s more upset about losing what she really wants from marriage. A baby.

When Nick learns about Raina’s dilemma, his first reaction is to leave her hanging like she left him after their steamy one-night stand. But he finally has something Raina needs, so he offers her a deal. He’ll give her a baby if she gives him something he desires just as much.

Just two little words.

I. Do.

WARNING: This book contains encounters with a drunken Elvis, pushy mamas, tabloid shenanigans, several occurrences of bad cooking and hot sex between two people who aren't even sure they like each other. Just saying...

Yep ladies, I gotta do it. 5 star read for me. Before I get into my review, let me just say, check out the cover. It is fantastic!!

I was stoked when I got the ding in my inbox that this book was ready. I loved Ridley and Jackson and could not wait for Raina's story. Let me just say that M. Malone has now moved right up the ranks amongst my favorite authors. I love her writing style and she sure knows her smut! This book was actually better than the first one and I thoroughly enjoyed the first one.

Ridley is engaged to be married to a douchebag, Steven. The marriage is more about convenience than anything and of course, to get Raina a baby. There is no love there. When the engagement is over, Nick steps up his game for the woman he loves. I lurve Nick. He is totally swoon worthy!

This book was hot, hot, hot. I loved every second of it. I cannot wait for more from this author. Check this book out, ladies!!

Wow, this author has a way to rope you in and totally immerse yourself into these characters.

Olivia and David were so drawn to each other. The chemistry is so strong. Its a touchy topic though, dealing with infidelity, but Jessica writes it well. My stomach stayed in knots and I was so torn. Olivia tried to do the right thing and be with her husband but the pull was too strong and the chance encounters kept screwing everything up!

This book is sexy, angsty good!  Cant wait till the next one!!!! I hear it's due out in October.

5 MILLION SMUT WHORE STARS!!!!

*************************************************************

YES, YES, YES! That is how you write a book!

Wow, consider my world rocked! This is the first book I have read by this author and I am hooked! I haven't been this excited about a book release since the final book for my beloved Kellan Kyle. I cannot wait for book 2.

From the very beginning, I was hooked. I developed a strong bond for Kayne right from the start and it solidified all the way through the book. I was completely emotionally invested in him. He is one hot, sexy, alpha male, but I almost feel guilty writing that.

Let me explain it. It's very rare for me to get emotionally invested in all characters in a book.  Usually I love the hero, but don't really care for the heroine, or vice versa. Also, normally I wouldn't have a problem wanting to steal the hero away from the heroine. Ladies, you know what I am talking about! However, in this book. I think I am in love with the heroine, Jessica, too. Oh wait, I am definitely in love with her too. I think I just want them to adopt me so I can be a part of their family.

I love, love, love Gracie. My goodness, what a sweetheart! That whole issue with her was just something else!!  Maddy was so beautiful, as was 'Sabella. And Ashur, another cutie pie. I am telling you, they pulled at my heartstrings something fierce.

This may just be my favorite book of the year!!!!!!

I'll tell you how good it is. Immediately after reading, I flipped right back to page 1 and started a reread. I didn't even feel right moving on after this book. I had to read it again. Now, I can only hope the next one in the series gets released soon. The author's style is phenomenal. I could NOT put this book down.

Stop everything you are doing now and read this book!! The house can be cleaned tomorrow and the kids can feed themselves!!

Here is Kayne! Oh my!

The one morning when he wakes to find her scribbled note telling him sheʼs leaving flips his world upside down. Unable to cope, he turns to booze and pills to numb his pain. My review:

I am so glad I didn't see the reviews before I purchased this one! I found this one cruising through the Shop section on my Nook for New Releases. The blurb sounded good, so I thought, what the hell.  I was captivated from the very beginning.

Bless Maggie's little heart. Geezus! What she went through was enough to make any girl a little cray cray! In my opinion, she made the ultimate sacrifice. I don't agree with what she did, but a scared to death youngster like herself did what she thought was best for her and everyone around her. She got herself together as best she could and moved forward. Gotta give props to her for that! I totally get why she wouldn't tell Jeremy. She was always trying to put everyone else before herself.

Luke. Ahh, swoonworthy! I haven't met a Luke yet that I haven't fallen madly in love with! I have said this before in reviews, but if an author uses the name Luke, she better make damn sure he lives up to it because no matter which author it is, I will always compare Luke's character right back to Kristen Ashley's Luke Stark. Call me crazy, but that name just means something. King of like Travis, Kellan, Christian, you get the idea. Anyhoo, Luke lived up to his name. And let me just say, bless his heart, too. I want to give him a giant hug.

Max, ahh, Max. You put Maggie back together again and if she doesn't choose you, I will take you. You can buy me a bakery! I want his story now! Please, please Kelly give us Max's story. You made us fall in love with him and now we want, no we need more!

This book is a little more sad/depressing than I like, but overall I liked the book and definitely don't regret the purchase one bit. I could see myself doing a reread a year from now.

However, I give that cover 5 Smutwhore Stars! I love it!

Peace!

Addison Snow is your typical teenager. She has a family that loves her, friends that make her laugh, and she's wrapped up in the excitement of graduating high school and going off to college to pursue her dream of becoming an author. When her mother, who also happens to be Addison's best friend, dies unexpectedly, her world comes to a crashing halt.

Death changes everyone...

To make the pain go away, Addison and her father travel down separate, dark paths. She chooses to end her grief forever, while he drowns his sorrows in the bottom of a bottle. How do you learn to live again when the most important person in your life is gone?

Addison struggles to pick up the pieces of her life. Instead of getting back to being the carefree teenager she once was, she's stuck handling all of the responsibilities that should have been her father's. She has no time to grieve, no time for emotions, and no time for happiness...until Zander Reinhardt walks in. All it takes is one little handwritten note on a napkin to kick-start her back to life and help her realize that maybe there's more to that life than pain.

But can it really be that simple? Can she really trust this man who makes her feel alive again for the first time in a year?

Addison and Zander both have secrets they aren't ready to share. When the truth finally comes out, is it enough to tear them apart or has something bigger than themselves always been watching over them, pushing them together, making sure they both get their happily ever after.

5 SMUTWHORE STARS!!!
************************************
Wow! I knew Tara Sivec was The Shit, but she keeps getting better and better. I love this author's style. I love that she can write a book that makes me laugh so hard my side aches and then write a book that takes my breath away and leaves me in tears of pain.

I fell in love with Addison and Zander right from the start. Addison suffers a horrible loss when her mother is taken away from her by an illness I happen to have myself. Geez, talk about hitting close to home. Anyhoo, Addison and her mom are close. Super close. The loss spirals a whole series of unbelievably painful events. Addison's dad fills the void with alcohol and spirals out of control, leaving the burden of the family business on Addison's shoulders. Addison fills the void by attempting to make it all go away permanently. She basically ends up shutting all emotions out and going through the motions of living.

Enter Zander. Cute, charming, super sweet. Swoon worthy from the get-go! One note left for Addison starts the whole story of their lives. Slowly, he gets Addison to feeling and opening up again. But Zander has his own secrets and let me just tell you, it is a shocker!

Wow, just wow. There were twists and turns that had my stomach aching and heart racing. This book was just so fantastic and even after having read it a few days, it's still right there in the forefront of  my mind. I actually started reading this on a plane and I was sniffling and wiping my eyes and trying to hide my face from my neighbor the entire time. I wanted to put it up so I wouldn't look like a trainwreck, but I just couldn't. It's just that good.

Like I said earlier, Tara Sivec is The Shit!!

That is all,

Sorry for the hiatus, ladies! Had to take a business trip up to Chi-Town. Go Cubs!

Have no fear, I am back and ready to blog. Next review up is Watch Over Me by Tara Sivec.

My Review

3.5 Smut Whore Stars

I have to say, this one wasn't my favorite from this author. I am a fan of Kendall Ryan and I think this is the lowest I have rated any of her books. With that said, it was still a great book and I won't hesitate to buy the next one.

So, Avery decides to head off to a college far from home where hardly anyone else from her high school class goes. (It's a good thing there is only 1 person there from her HS because she nearly has a shit hemorrhage when she sees that one girl.) Apparently she has some big secret that she doesn't want getting out because it's humiliating.

Anyway, enter Jace. The man whore of the campus. He's a been there, done that kind of guy, but there is something about Avery that draws him in. They start off with an amazing friendship and love blooms from there.

Next thing we know, his cunt of an ex has let the cat out of the bag. Avery's secret is out and Jace is hurt. I have to say, while the secret is slightly humiliating, it's not that big of a deal. I mean, come on, it's beginning to become a normal thing in society. Hell, even celebrities are doing it. Embrace your inner slut!

Anyway, I just kind of felt like it was anticlimactic and missing something for me. I felt a little connection with the H/h but something was not there. Or maybe this kind of thing has just been done to death.

Quiet, shy virgin falling for the manwhore? Yup

Love Plus One (G-Man #2)

Love Plus One (G-Man #2)
by the fabulous Andrea Smith
Published June 12, 2013

It had been a year ago that 19-year-old Lindsey Dennison's life had taken an abrupt turn. While away at Cornell for her freshman year at college, her parents' marriage had imploded. Lindsey learned the harsh truth about her father, and his involvement in criminal activity that was the focus of a major federal bust. Her father had slipped out of the country with his lover and cohort in crime, Susanne, shortly before the FBI arrest warrants could be served. He was now a fugitive from justice, deserting his only child. Lindsey was left trying to pick up the pieces of the life she now realized had been a house of secrets and lies for all of those years.

After her mother's marriage to Eric Slater, one of the special agents of the FBI involved in the federal investigation that occurred in their hometown of Indianapolis, Lindsey decides to start fresh at a new college close to where her mother, step-father and baby brother Bryce are now living outside of Washington, D.C.

Life is different now for Lindsey, but it is about to change even more. Her step-father's partner and best friend in the bureau, Trace "Taz" Matthews, is about to rock her world in more ways than one. Taz is nearly ten years older than Lindsey, but her initial interest in him is physical only. Lindsey has a problem that she is certain Taz can fix . . . but will he?

Despite their best efforts, Lindsey and Taz are tossed together by fate on more than one occasion, and this G-Man does not appreciate the distraction. There are complications for Sammie and Slate along the way as well. A risky pregnancy for Sammie requires the family to pull together and Lindsey's life suddenly becomes increasingly complicated.

There is a budding romance on the horizon for Lindsey with a wealthy, Ivy-League type guy she meets at school by the name of Kyzer Stanfield. Kyzer's interest in Lindsey does not sit well for Taz. When Lindsey must leave school to return home to help her mother, Taz is relieved that she will be distanced from the pursuit of Kyzer. . . but not for long.

Things are never quite as they seem. Lindsey will learn a brutal lesson about trust, compassion and strength. Taz will learn lessons about love, intimacy and honor, and that sometimes doing the right thing
 has consequences.

5 SMUT WHORE STARS!!

*******************************************************

My review

First, let me just say that Andrea Smith knows how to rock my world! She did not disappoint in this thrilling, amazing, brilliant book!!

Holy shit! This book was sooooo good. 5 star plus read for me. I am a huge Andrea Smith fan and if it wasn't cemented before, it is now! This is probably my favorite book from her so far. I love, love, love Lindsey. This book is good right from the start.

Lindsey is a little firecracker, but I love how respectful she is to her mom. I also love how Slate puts her in her place. Taz is yummy. He is such an alpha male, even though he's thinks he isn't. Taz reminds me of my men from Kristen Ashley's hot bunch. And let me tell you, that is a compliment of the highest caliber. Taz is right up there with my favorite book boyfriends.

SPOILERS BELOW

***************************************************

I can't say enough good things about this book. I will say at one point, I lost it. What Kyzer did to Lindsey about tore me up. From the very start, I developed an emotional connection to Lindsey and then when that happened, I literally got sick. My stomach started cramping and I had to stop reading, get some water and tissues and take deep breaths. I have never in my life ever wanted to jump into my Nook and murder someone as much as I wanted to murder Kyzer and even that Susanne bitch. Taz should've put a bullet through his skull when he had the chance I am not a person who condones violence, but dammit that would've been justified. Taz handled it so well and finally brought Lindsey back. That was the point I knew I had fallen completely in love with Taz.

This is one of those books that stays on your mind for a while. For an author to write a story that gives the reader that much of an emotional attachment, that's saying a lot. I can't wait for the next installment. I don't know who is next, but I hope this series keeps right on going. I definitely need some Lindsey and Taz in the not so distant future. Maybe Darcy is next. Oooh she is so much fun. Darcy and Darin would be a good one. She is such a little spitfire.

And where the hell is Rat Bastard!?!

Onward bound, Mrs. Smith. Ready for the next one. Lord, let it be Darcy...fingers crossed. Squeee!

5 SMUT WHORE STARS!!!!!!!
WOO HOO! YOU GO, ANDREA!!

**************************************************

My review

5 amazing, wonderful, awesome stars!!! I just love this author! I was hooked on her writing after reading Maybe Baby and she hasn't disappointed since. As a 31 year old married woman with a kid, I felt like I could relate so well to Sammie. Sometimes you just stop and wish life was more exciting or wish you had taken more time for yourself. Not that you regret your decisions or events that have happened in your life, just that you want to live and feel alive. I have been searching for a pole dancing class in my hometown but can't find one close by, but it would be amazing to do so.

I absolutely loved Sammie and adored Slate. She is such a sweetheart and Slate is perfect for her. I loved reading their stories and watching the love blossom. I was very shocked by the ending! I mean, what the hell. I hoped something like that would happen, but wow!

I can't wait for the next in the series. I want to know what happened to the Rat Bastard and Lindsey and Taz. Such an exciting new series by a fantastic author!!

Woo hoo. I am a fan for life!! Dont miss this 5 star read!!!

Love Love  a novel by Beth Michele
Published on May 8, 2013

Gabrielle Willis is smart. She's funny. And oh yes, she's a bit klutzy. When Gabrielle left sunny California bound for the energy of Manhattan, she was willingly leaving the life she had known for the new life she would create. But was she really leaving something behind or was she running away?

On the outside, Gabrielle Willis has it all under control. A new life in Manhattan, a great roommate, and a good job. But she is haunted. Haunted by a memory she's tried to forget and by a family who's abandoned her. But what happens when what's on the outside is only an illusion and in perfect contradiction to what's buried deep within?

Enter Dane Rhodes. He's gorgeous, smart, and sexy as hell. Just what Gabby wants, or so she thinks. But when she meets Brad Dixon, the sweet guy with the crooked smile, he begins to make her see that the very thing she is trying to run from is the very thing that just may push her to see the light.

*****************************************************************************************

4 SMUT WHORE STARS!

This was a great love story that tugged at my heartstrings over and over. Gabrielle feels all alone in the world and packs up to move to Manhatten with her best friend Fran. They endured 4 years of school and now they are single ladies on the town. Gabrielle experienced a great loss 3 years ago that has left her emotionally damaged and unavailable. She stumbles into Dane Rhodes, a green eyes, dark haired, sex on a stick Adonis. After a few chance meetings, things get hot and heavy and before we know it, they are burning up the sheets. While the sex is hot, that is all they have. While doing the nasty with Dane at night, Gabby finds herself being charmed by the owner of the coffee house, Brad Dixon. Brad is sweet, charming, and a bit of a geek. Oh, he's also a superhero ;)

So, who gets the girl? The sweet, charming coffee guy or the smoking hot Adonis. You will have to read the book to find that out! No spoilers from me! There are twists and turns and some emotional gut wrenchers in this book to keep it interesting from start to finish. There is love, deception, loss, accidents, drama, etc. Not going to tell you in which order and not going to tell you who it happens to. Read the book!
