4 Let's Hear it for Friends to Lovers Stories

My Review:

4 Good, Solid stars from me. I absolutely adored this book. It was such a pleasant surprise. I love Grace and Jax! They are just so darn cute together. What's not to love about a friends turn lovers book? They totally make the best romances!

This book is sweet, cute, funny, and down right addicting. Once I started reading it, I could not put it down! This is my first Shannon Richard book and will not be my last. This is book 2 in a series, but it is definitely okay as a stand-alone. I haven't read book 1 yet, and in no way did I feel like I missed anything. I am, however, going back to read book 1.

Jax about drove me up the wall with his self doubting! Poor Grace, she never doubted and stayed right there and took it like a woman until he was finally able to admit it to himself. I like the secondary story going on with the burglary and thefts. It really added that extra drama to the story to keep it going.

Really good book and glad I stumbled across this author. I like her writing style!!

Note to Self

Love is patient; love is kind.
Love doesn't boast or brag.
There's no arrogance in love;
it's never rude, crude, or indecent-it's not self absorbed.
Love isn't easily upset.
Love doesn't tally wrongs.
Love trusts, hopes, and endures no matter what.
Love will never become obsolete.
I'll fight for her.

Thief

Caleb Drake never got over his first love. Not when he got married. Not when she got married. When life suddenly comes full circle Caleb must decide how how far he is willing to go to get the aloof and alluring Olivia Kaspen back. But for every action in life there is a consequence, and soon Caleb finds out that sometimes love comes at an unbearably high price.

5 Holy Shit I need a nerve pill stars!!

My Review:

First of all, I cannot stop thinking about Pink's song when I think of this book. Honestly, for me, it about sums this book up:

Right from the start
You were a Thief, you stole my heart
And I, your willing victim
I let you see the parts of me
That weren't all that pretty
And with every touch
You fixed

Just give a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second, we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again

This book was phenomenal. Tarryn Fisher has a knack for frustrating the ever loving shit out of her readers...in the best way possible, I mean :)

I sat through this book so frustrated and I wanted to scream and shot and let it all out. I am so, so glad we got Caleb's point of view. I absolutely adore him now. I loved him before, but I just wasn't 100% sure of his love. There is no doubt now. Also, this book just confirmed even more that I despise Leah's dirty red ass. She is a cunt, plain and simple. Dragging Stella in it was just lower than low. She is a thief, herself!

I absolutely hated to see this book end, but honestly, I am not sure my nerves could've taken any more. This book is phenomenal, ladies! If you haven't read it, I highly recommend stopping everything you are doing and getting started on book 1.

Here's the reading order:
The Opportunist (Love Me With Lies, #1)Dirty Red (Love Me With Lies, #2)Thief (Love Me With Lies, #3)

Here's a little teaser for you:
“What is it, Caleb? You’re scaring me.” “I need to talk to you about something,” I tried again. “I need to talk to my mother about something. Can you do that without being…” “Bitchy?” she offered. I nodded. “Should I be afraid?” I stood up and walked to the window, looking out at her precious roses. She had every shade of pink and red. It was a mess of thorns and color. I didn’t like roses. They reminded me of the women in my life; beautiful and bright, but if you touched them they made you bleed. “Olivia is getting married today. I need you to talk me out of going to the church and stopping her.” The only indication that she’d heard me was the slight expansion of white around her irises. She opened her mouth and then abruptly closed it. “I’ll take that as your blessing.” I strode toward the door. My mother jumped up and blocked me. She was pretty stealthy in heels. “Caleb, honey … nothing good can come out of that. You and Olivia are-” “Don’t say it.” “Over,” she finished. “That was my non-bitchy version.” I grimaced. “It’s not over for me.” “It’s obviously over for her. She’s getting married.” She reached up and cupped my face in her hands. “I’m so sorry you’re hurting.” I didn’t say anything. She sighed and pulled me down on the couch to sit next to her. “I’m going to put aside my extreme dislike for that girl and tell you something that you might find useful.” I listened. If she was putting aside her dislike, I potentially had mind-blowing advice coming my way. “Three things,” she said, patting my hand. “It’s okay that you love her. Don’t stop. If you turn your feelings off for her, you might turn everything off. That’s not good. Second, don’t wait for her. You have to live your life — you have a baby on the way.” She smiled at me sadly as I waited for the grand finale. “And finally … wait for her.” She laughed at the confused expression on my face. “Life does not accommodate you, it shatters you. Love is mean, but it’s good. It keeps us alive. If you need her, then wait. But, right now she’s getting married. It’s her day and you can’t ruin it.” Love is mean. I loved my mom — especially when she wasn’t being a bitch.

Switch It On

Switch it On
by: J.H. Craig
Switch It On (Switch Stories)

Blurb:
Warning: This is an adult book, discussing adult themes. If you are not an adult, or have ever
referred to your fun zone as "down there", this is probably not the book for you! Contained herein are graphic descriptions of sex, bondage, discipline, dominance and submission, and the language is honest, not sugar-coated. You'll find fetishes with which you may be unfamiliar, including Mommy-son play, and
forniphilia (using people as furniture). You'll find dirty talk, crude language, and lapses into the poetical. There is also brief mention of mental illness and medication for same. Oh, and love. You'll find that, too. I wish I'd been
warned it would come up! If it were a movie, Switch It On would definitely have to be rated NC-17.

Working as a Dominant at The Basement, I could tell you some stories! None of them are as twisted as the one I'm going to share with you. You see, Miss Madeline's got a secret.

It would surprise my clients, those who pay me to dominate them. It would surprise Ian, my sleazy boss, who loves to cheat me out of my pay and handle the help, if I let him get away with it. It would surprise my assistant, Trey, who desperately wants and needs my protection. It would surprise Murray, the scummy promoter who profits from my creative efforts in my fetish shows.

The only one not surprised? The one who holds the secret, my lover, artist Jason Merrin. He knows I don't always need to be the boss, that when I come home, sometimes it's the last thing I want. He can step up and keep me in line whenever I need it.

But when Ian threatens Trey with termination, I have to make a decision. I can't stand by and let Trey submit to this sexual harassment. Can I offer Trey my protection? And what will Jason have to say about it? Find out in Switch It On!

4 I love it when a book starts with a warning Stars!!
**********************************************

My Review
First off, when a book starts with a warning, my blood gets pumping! Wow, what a spicy little quick read! This book was short, sweet, and to the point and I loved it. I normally shy away from shorts reads because I am more of a full-length novel kind of girl. When the author contacted me to possibly review this book, I had to do it. I am so glad I did!

This is my first J.H. Craig book and it will not be my last. The book was well written and seriously steamy. I am not a hard-core BDSM lover, and luckily this one had a story line with it. It was like soft BDSM. :)

If you like this kind of thing, give it a try. Be sure to keep an open mind, as you will need it! Great read!!

Broken Beauty

Broken Beauty (#1 Broken Beauty Novella)
by: Chloe Adams
Broken Beauty (Broken Beauty Novellas #1)

Blurb:
**Contains graphic content and the sensitive topic of rape and its aftermath. Not intended for teens under the age of 18.**

Sometimes bad things happen to beautiful people.

When socialite party girl Mia Abbott-Renou wakes up in a garden she has little recall of the previous night -- except that she is naked...hurt...terrified. Not only has she been raped, but she knows one of her assailants: the son of a wealthy politician who happens to be her own father’s political ally.

Mia wants and needs justice. Except this privileged boy has an alibi and her father forbids her from going to the police. It’s a critical election year, one that his party might lose if his image as a doting father is soured due to Mia being labeled a lush or worse, promiscuous.

Devastated at not having the support of her family, Mia finds herself in a tug-of-war with her conscience over what to do, especially since she can’t remember exactly what happened that night. Worse, the men who attacked her have hurt several other girls, and Mia may be the key to stopping them.

Mia tries to forget, until the unthinkable happens, and she’s left reeling once again, faced with a new challenge that will force her to take more control of her life.

4.5 this book tried to break my heart Stars!
******************************

My Review:
Oh my God. This book ripped my heart out and smashed it. Wow. This book is just, wow! I adore Mia. I just wanted to reach in and hold her. What she went through was horrific. And for her parents to not be there and be more worried about their status than their daughter. And for her to be so young. I had tears in my eyes for most of the book.

I think I need a drink after this book. And I definitely need more. I can't wait for the next one. I can't imagine what the author must have went through even writing the book. My heart reaches out. Great book!

My Review

This one gets a good, solid 4.5 stars from me. I am a HUGE KA fan and have loved every thing I have read of hers. I can't say that this one is my favorite, but it is definitely a great book and will be added to my reread pile over and over!

I was so stoked to receive my very first KA ARC! Thanks so much to Netgalley and KA herself!

I don't want to give any details on the book and spoil it for anyone, so I'll keep this short. Ever since we met that gorgeous, sweet Reece in Feb's book, I could not wait to get his story. It's amazing how even though his role was small in that book, KA gets you hooked. This one did not let me down. I feel like it was classic KA, and I see others b*tching because it is, saying she's predictable, yada yada. Well, it's her style and for me personally, I LOVE it! I wish we would've seen some of my faves from the series, but I was happy with what I got. I love catching up with my KA gang!

Loved it and I cannot wait until the next KA book comes out! Keep 'em coming, girl!

4 Save a horse, ride a Cowboy Stars!!

My review:

I really enjoyed reading this book. This is one of those that once you start, you can't stop until the whole darn book is over. I love Rylan. Thank God I have never experienced the loss of a child, but I can only begin to imagine the pain a mother must go through. I felt my heart breaking over and over with every interaction with Birdie. Poor thing.

Cole. Um, yum. What is not to love about a sexy, broody, did I mention sexy cowboy. He doesn't want another woman. He is too dang busy and has been too burned to even thing about going there, but there is something about Rylan that he can't let go of.

Birdie, oh goodness. I heart her. She is just beautiful!

Man oh man, is this a good book! Towards the end, with the incident with Birdie and Rylan, I cried my eyes out. I mean hiccuping, ugly splotchy face, tears. The way Rylan handled it, ugh. What a man! I wanted to punch him so badly.

Such a good book!! I got my eye on you Elizabeth Otto ;)
